ah, the joy of living somewhere where the sun actually shines on the house. my passion flower is going crazy again, and it just makes me so happy to see those flower in the sun when i come downstairs in the mornings. little miss ladybug seems pretty happy about this one as well...
farmor and farfar were up again today. thomas is in umeå working so i am getting a little help with the girls so i can get stuff down around the house. eijla and farfar were tickling the ivories. she has really taken a liking to the piano. maybe i should give her lessons when she gets a bit older.
farmor and zoe were really busy making beads for necklaces out of rolled up paper. farmor knows the way to zoe's heart is through pussel!
after a hard day of playing farmor and eijla took a little nap on the couch. just looked so cozy i had to snap a pic.

bjärred besök
so spring is in the air, the greenhouse is built. it is time to head to a nursery! and it just so happens that one of the best ones is down by farfar and farmor. and thomas just happened to want to go for a test drive on some ducatis down in lödde. so i packed the girls and dog into our car and thomas rode off on his bike. the nursery was full of goodies, and zoe bought lots of flowers. then we headed to otto pers gård where farmor keeps her sheep. they just had lambs, and the girls loved them. eijla and a little white lamb were trying to prove who had more attitude...

zoe was super proud that she is now big enough to hold the lambs. good thing they were so friendly and not shy at all. the girls did not want to leave them alone.

farmor had an utstallning that day, so we popped and and checked out all her beautiful pottery. that farmor has got talent!
then farfar took a turn looking cool on the bike while thomas got ready to ride...

it was a great day. flowers, plants, lambs, motorcycles, pottery, and grandparent snuggles, a little bit of something for everyone.

the last days of ao nang, for now anyway...
our time in ao nang has come to a close. but there a few last memories we would like to share. for instance, round the corner from where we stayed, there were bushes with purple flowers. everyday zoe did her best to be the first to spot them. and i do not know how many walks we had to take around the block to check them out.
we got in a little beach time with farmor farfar as well, but not as much as we would have liked due to the girls being sick.
we spend some time with daum and rat, though they have such long work hours at the dive school.
we hopped on the mopeds one day and went exploring. aside from a batik demonstration, we checked out the spicy garden. a large beautiful garden full of all kinds of plants, dragonflies, and butterflies.
there was lots of vegetation to check out, smell, feel, enjoy.
after spicy garden there was a new beach to explore... with cool drinks...

for anita and lars last night we went to kruathara, one of favorite seafood restaurants with daum and rat. thomas, daum, and zoe checked out the offerings for the night, and picked out some yummy eats.

thanks for a great visit farmor and farfar. glad you had a safe flight home.

what happens when eijla gets sick?
eijla has almost never been sick in her year of life. but the other day when we heading out to dinner, she threw up all over me and the backpack we carry her in. so went home cleaned up. she seemed fine, and headed out again. repeat. went home, cleaned her up. she seemed fine. but i stayed home with her just in case. which ended up being a good thing, cuz, lets just say i spent a lot of time mopping floors...
anyway, so while poor little eijla was sick at home, what do pappa, zoe, farmor, and farfar do? EAT LOBSTER AND CRAB!

koh talu and yawabon, last day of diving
our last day of diving here in ao nang. had two really fun dives. thomas and anita went on the first one while zoe and i snorkeled around.
then i free dove down and stole a little big of air!
after the standard lunch of yummy pad thai, anita and i hopped in. yawabon was full of nudis!
we hung out with a lionfish for a bit...

and more nudis!
the weather was perfect, the boatman lovely, and chicken island standing proud..

another great day out for all three generations!

Happy Birthday Eijla!!!
Our little eijla beanie turned one today! hipp hipp hurra! we woke up to song and presents...
a cute little monkey for our cute little monkey!
then super yummy breakfast at the bakery...
then off to the beach for a bit of birthday fun in the sun...
since it was her birthday, eijla got to smash all the sand castles. she was eijla the destroyer! we could not build them fast enough...
then off course it was off for a bit of elephant trekking, what else does one do on their very first birthday?

and of course there was the feeding of the elephants. zoe was the championed at that...
then it was time for a birthday nap with extra farfar snuggles...
and then down to the beach for a sunset walk and of course eijla's first ever, very own ice cream cone. she devoured the entire thing. and really, really enjoyed it, can't you tell?

then there was some high flying by the girls thanks to thomas...
i know it doesn't look like it, but eijla was laughing like crazy, she loved it!

then it was back home for the cake...
zoe and pappa helped blow out the candle, after we made sure that eijla made a wish...

happy birthday, our dear adorable, crazy, wild, silly, cuddly eijla beanie. we had a great time sharing it with you. hope you have a wonderful year!
