a great weekend with franz and anna

finally we had the time to go up to uddevalla and see our friends franz and anna. zoe was such a trooper on the long car ride, she colored amazing pictures in her coloring book and did not complain at all.

we drove out to lysekil and walked around check out the sights and zoe and thomas posed as fish. our last night was full of great company, delicious food and great salsa dancing! such a great weekend it was.

farfar is getting old

this last sunday was farfar´s birthday, but we had his party on saturday. it was great anders, cilla, emma and moa all came, and of course farfar and farmor. thomas made some amazing meat dish that of course i did not not eat, but everyone else seemed to enjoy very much. and the cake was divine, lots and lots of chocolate, cannot go wrong there. after the yummy cake emma, moa and their folks had to head back home.

Farmor and farfar stayed over so we could go mushroom hunting on farfar´s birthday. and hunt we did.
we looked high and low, every which we could. zoe had the best luck while searching with farmor and farfar. we found enough to have a yummy chanterelle sauce. zoe is definately getting better at picking them gently, but she still likes to put the bag of mushrooms in her pocket so they all get smashed anyway!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY FARFAR!

farfar´s or zoe´s godis?

in sweden candy or treats are called godis (pronounced very much like goodies). it is a bit of a swedish tradition for children to have godis on saturdays. we do not really abide by this tradition, as we do not often have godis at all. however, thomas is a bit of sweet tooth sometimes, and has taught zoe that if she goes shopping with farfar, she should look at him real sweetly and ask ever so nicely for godis, or "gueeeys" as zoe calls them. so when farfar and farmor come up for a visit, there often is a bag of godis in the house for the day. the question is who is it that eats them up?

last night it was farfar who seemed to think the godis were his, but zoe, that sneaky little girl that she is always wins in the end, and it was her adorable chocolate mouth and small hand deep down in the bag that gave her away. the godis gris (candy pig translated from swedish) is none other than our very own zoe sassafras!

our friends jessica and christer with their two adorable daughters rebecca and mathilda came up for dinner on saturday and we had homemade pizza and went for a walk in the village. as we were walking back to the house mathilda and zoe came running home holding hands. it was so cute we had to take a picture. was a great day with great friends.

everybody needs a good hairdresser

torre is so patient with zoe it is amazing. she decided that he needed his hair done. luckily he just sat there and took it calmly. i can say from experience, zoe is not the gentliest of hairdressers!

zoe moves in...

zoe has been basically sleeping in our room for the last two years, and we decided it was time for her to move out. so i finally cleaned all of our crap out of her room and moved hers in. finally at the age of 2+, zoe gets to take possession of her own room. i even made matching curtains and a duvee cover with none other than a fishy motive. we had bought her hanging glass stars and balls in egypt more than a year and a half ago. finally we hung them up at the end of her bed and she loves to swing them around, however she sometimes forgets she has pushed them, and when they come flying back in her face she is completely taken by surprise. enjoy your own space zoe!
