sick, sick, sick...

well, we have basically spent the last month in pulau weh, with either one, two or all three of us sick the entire time. we hardly got any diving in. bummer. now we are in k.l. have been to hospitals and doctors, and everyone has a different opinion, annoying. anyway, at the hospital in indonesia i was diagnosed with dengue fever, the doctor said it was very dangerous and we should not leave, but our flight was that afternoon, and our visa was up. so she made us promise to go to a hospital here in k.l., which we did but he seemed to think dengue was nothing big at all, and i could just continue suffering for about two more weeks. meanwhile thomas had begun to display similiar symptoms, but the doctor did not even want to do a test on him. i have to say, he left me feeling a bit disappointed. i have been vomiting and unable to keep food down for the last two weeks, which means i am very weak, among other things, but he did not seem concerned at all. apparently i have a bladder infection, which concerned him more than anything else, strange. anyway, now i am doing mildly better, but thomas sounds like he is dying, poor guy. farfar and farmor have been doing more than their part from all the way back in sweden, calling doctors and insurances, and waiting who knows how long in telephone queues. we really have appreciated their help. hopefully we can all just get better soon. we are so sick of being sick. luckily zoe has been healthy the last couple of weeks anyway.

det har varit sjukt sedan vi kom hit. borjade med mig o zoe sedan har det hallit i sig for mig. 2 veckor med huvudverk usch. eimi ligger hemma o sover. vi var hos doktorn idag. jag ska inte saga nagot om att eimi inte ville aka dit, jag gick aldrig till doktorn. men hon sa att vi kunde aka dit o hora vad de sa. de tog malaria test som var negativt och det var med all sanolikhet inte dengue. efter att ha pratat med tanten dar sa kom vi fram till det. kom hem med en dros med tabletter...
tror att det var fran overanstrangning. hon var lite kass och hade bara en dag kvar pa en kurs som hon ville gora fardigt.
vi har hittat en jattebra barnvakt till zoe. sa hon leker med henne nagra timmar varje dag.
nu e det dags for lunch for mig. alla har typ samma 5 olika ratter sa det e svart att variera sig. stekta eller kokta nudlar... de e fragan.

chillin out in our little paradise...

been having a nice relaxing time here on iboih, aside from the fact that it seems we all got really sick from staying in that moldy room in bandah aceh. we all have really bad coughs and colds. there was a retired child's doctor staying here on vacation, and he did not think zoe would get better without antibiotics, but sure enough, that tough little monster surprised him. she is definately on the mend, though thomas is still having lots of sinus problems, which means not much diving for us. i did finish the dive course with per and karin, it went really well, we even managed to see manta rays on the course. today we found a new place to stay that is a huge house for only $5/night. great to have some space for zoe to run around. she has been great. in k.l. we managed to find a bit of playdoh, travel size, and when we arrived her she got it as a treat for being such a good girl, and not having her binkie for a whole week. (she still has not had one since farmor and farfar left, so i think we are finally completely free of them! yipee!). anyway, she has been loving her play doh.

and here she is pretending to be a ghost, cannot say she was very scary in a tropical sarong though!
