jenny and johan's visit

finally it happened!  farbror johan brought a girl home!  so you know she is special!  jenny and johan came down for a couple days of fun and food.  it was great getting to meet jenny, and seeing our dear old friend johan, who by the way refused to look decent in a foto.  buse farbror!

we decided to have a little adventure out to hovdala slott.  the garden there is beautiful, and the girls loved checking out the flowers and the bees!

pappa was a lazy butt and found every park bench he could!

then we headed off to the haunts, tyringe forest to try and find some chanterelles.  we managed to find a few.  even eijla helped.

and then home for the first crayfish of the year!  yum!

the next day it was finally nice enough weather for us to try and set up zoe's tent, johan and thomas did a great job, and it did not even blow away when the winds came.

the mushrooms we picked yesterday were just enough to make a sauce.  "my daddy makes the yummiest sauces"-zoe.

and the weather was even kind enough to allow for a bit of bathing. we headed over to humle sjön for some fun.  zoe and jenny really hit it off. 

zoe managed to catch a frog, which she grudgingly let go when it was time to leave.

and eijla was on sunbathing watch. making sure that thomas and johan did not burn themselves.  somebody has to be responsible!

it is always a great treat when johan comes down, and bringing jenny made it all the better.  it always bring a smile to my face when i think about how lucky we are to have such great times with such wonderful friends.  miss you guys until next time!

vaalborgs afton

so as per tradition we celebrated vaalborgs with the österströms, only this year we had the pleasure of farbror johan as well. a yummy grilled dinner, great company, and then down to the village fire. seems like all of röke turns out for this huge event!
and warm congrats to lina who had her little girl this morning!

old, old, old uncle johan

that´s right uncle johan is getting old. turned the big four-oh, and then decided to have a party with two of his friends that were also turning 40. then as if that wasn´t bad enough, he invited thomas and i! so farmor and farfar came and picked up little zoe, and off we drove to the north, the far north, karlstad. though i missed zoe we had a lot of fun. here are the birthday guys...as the evening continued things became even more and more silly, including karoke. i ended up having to hide under a table to get out of it. but there was much fun to be had and it was fun to celebrate with such dear and longtime friend. we even got to meet some of johan´s friends, even got to hear some good stories about him. thanks for sharing with us.
