happy halloween

what better way to celebrate halloween then by carving pumpkins and then going swimming!
then we even went trick or treating, well, kinda, we headed across the street to ebba´s house.  the girls wanted to be ghosts this year.  though after we got back home they changed their minds and wanted to be princesses.  so they changed garb and went trick or treatin´ here at home as darling little princesses.

greenhouse fotoshoot and trick or treaters

we had a super yummy thomas soup out in the greenhouse for lunch yesterday.  probably our last meal out there for the year.  we have not used the "dining section" of the greenhouse so much this year.  but hopefully we will next year.  it is so cozy.
after lunch, zoe insisted on a photoshoot.  my little photo model.  she is just so darn cute.
she took some lovely photos of  me as well.
my little pink and purple ballerina...
then today was halloween, so we had a scary little ghost and a sweet little princess come trick or treating.  we had them knock on the doors upstairs as thomas and i ran from room to room trying to get there before they finished knocking on the last door.  not sure that eijla understood what was going on, but she was super happy every time she got candy for knocking on a door. booo!

pyssla and pumpkins

i have been talking about making a mirror for eijla for months.  mormor found one at a loppis and we designed the vinyls signs for it.  luckily there was a lot of space left over on the sheets, so zoe and eijla ended up with lots and lots of vinyl stickers, a real hit.
thought that the mirror turned out really cute.  zoe took a picture of it for us.
then we finally had the österströms over for dinner.  seems like forever since last time. good food and good company makes for a perfect evening.  since halloween is just around the corner, we got a pumpkin for the girls to carve.  they designed half the face each.
turned out pretty cute,  eyelashes and all.  and the princesses were very proud of their artwork.

happy halloween!

pumpkins are not so common here in sweden. so when they go on sale for halloween, we got the biggest ones we could find (by swedish standards, these are HUGE!). eijla really enjoyed the slimey parts...
couldn't understand why we wouldn't let her eat it. at least the kid has a great appetite.
then pappa got more assistance than he maybe needed drawing his pumpkin. it was a group effort.
it was a fun evening. luckily zoe hasn't learned that there is usually a bunch of candy involved on halloween as well. zoe did a great job, she drew the pumpkin's face on the right all by herself. but she was not as excited about scooping out the gunk as she was last year. kids learn too quickly.

happy halloween!

yes, halloween made it to sweden this year. (okay, so some swedish kids do go out and beg for candy, but it just does not have the same spirit here, so we had our own little halloween). mormor provided the pumpkin and location, and zoe provided the adorable entertainment. first came the scooping out of the pumpkin.
with a few pointers from mormor, zoe was quickly a pro, and spooning out the sloppy goop with gusto!
after a bit of carving and candle lighting, the mood was set. zoe was ready to scare us all!
hope everyone else had a fun halloween too!
