morsdag, the real one.

our weekend of fun continued with a visit to farmor and farfar. since farfar has not been feeling so well since his operation we have not been able to see them so often, so it is a real treat with farmor and farfar snuggles. plus it was swedish mother´s day, always a good excuse.

 zoe of course found flowers,  lots and lots of them...

 we even stopped by and played with farmor´s lambs for a bit. 

 then there were of course more snuggles.

it was a lovely weekend with great company and yummy food.  not to mention i got some lovely plants at the hög greenhouse for mother´s day, including a good sized wisteria, which thomas has promised not to kill this time.  zoe got me a really beautiful petunia, i will have to and get a pic of one of these days.

the 101st cool place in skåne...

while relaxing on the southern beaches of goa, we met a really lovely swedish family, and even celebrated jul with them.  turns out they also live in skåne, and have a summer stuga not so far from röke.  so we swung by for a fika.  it was great seeing them again, and valle had built a very impressive beach hunt (only the beach was missing).  we have not even started on our deck yet! had a great relaxing afternoon and a very yummy pie with these fabulous people.

the girls had a great time playing together,  and really took good care of eijla, even helped her up the slide..

and then down again.

tim was such a sweetie, but i think the girls were a bit too wild for his taste, he walked among the flowers instead.

yep, a little bit of paradise in the middle of skåne.

 it was really a lovely afternoon, thanks for the visit guys,  next time it is a red necked visit to röke!

what? summer already?

the other day we had a picnic at zoe and eijla´s dagis, and since it was skolavslutningen,  it was dagis avslutningen for zoe.  cannot believe she is so big, going to move over the the "big röke school" in august.  but seems like they are going to have a fun class, though i feel a bit bad for the boys, the girls outnumber them 5 to 2!

 then of course whenever we get the chance we swing by the österströms for a bit of lovin', though it is not always frivilligt on anya´s behalf.

 the plants are in, the starts up popping up.  it is starting to be green!

a bit of danish company

a visit from a dear old friend that we had not seen in years made for an extra fun weekend.  christina, came up from copenhagen, funny one can live so close and still not see each other.  zoe fell in love immediately.  but it might have been something to do with the fact that christina could talk in funny voices and was willing to role play with their toys for hours at a go.  well done christina! 

then she showed the girls how to cut out cool shapes, especially hearts and make what zoe referred to as "amazing" decorations.  it was the first i had seen eijla use scissors, and it was adorable to see that little tongue come out and the mouth move with every cut.  she must have gotten that from uncle bryan! 

thanks for a great visit christina,  you are already greatly missed.  hope we make it down to you someday soon.

tyringe dagarna

it is that time of year again, we headed down to åparken to meet maya and anya and have some fun.  yes, tyringe dagarna are here.  we parked at mormor's and brought her along for fun.  on the way we stopped and checked out a little duck family...

then it was ride after ride, until the tickets were finished...

on the stage they had a children´s show.  zoe and eijla were so engrossed, that they totally forget about everything else, but not maya, she knew how to flirt with the camera.

then there was free glasspinnar!  mums!  great way to spend the morning, and luckily it did not rain.  thanks for a great time family österström and mormor!

a weekend in röke

well, we kinda miss the egg dyeing around easter, or at least it was a very weak showing. but we pulled out the dyes the other day, and zoe dyed all the eggs we had in the house.  hey, why not,  it is fun to have girly colored eggs any day of the year!

then we drove in the the building store to buy a fan for our bathroom and ending up buying flooring for our bedroom.  who knows what we were thinking.  we ripped down the old loose wallpaper in our room, and put down a new floor.  what else does on due when they have a day off?

luckily we took it easy on sunday and played in the garden. the girls love picking all the spring flowers.

and my seeds are in.  hope it turns greens, but not just with weeds!

spring has come to visit our house. i just hope it stays.

the weekend of the fake mother's day

now that we are both working, we really appreciate our weekends.  after a yummy breakfast in the greenhouse, thomas and girls chilled out in there for nearly the whole day.  nice.

 then somehow we mixed up our american mother's day, and thought that it was today.  it was not until late afternoon that we realized our mistake.  but by then it was too late,  they had been spoiling me all day, zoe was making dinner, and mormor was on her way over.  so this year we had the fake mother's day, and skipped the real one.  works for us.  i cannot believe what a big girl zoe has become, she can cook!  and she is good at it too.  there was very little help from pappa and it was delicious. thank you zoe!

 and our little wild child has done it again.  the other day i heard a bonk, and then a little cry, but then nothing more, so i figured it was not serious and continued doing the dishes or whatever i was doing.  eilja came by laughing and playing a bit later, and i did not think about it again, until later that evening i was snuggling with her and i must have touch her forehead, and she said "ouch, my head" and i looked and sure enough, under her way too long bangs was this lovely doozey.  tough kid.  crazy kid, love that kid.

a bit of garden help

this my last week of freedom before i have to start work again, so the girls and i have been out in the garden getting as much done as possible.  the girls planted all the seeds for their flower garden.  not sure how many actually got in the ground and how many blew away...

 eijla picked a daffodil in the field and put it in her hair.  she was so very proud of it.  so cute.

 not sure how, but eijla can pull zoe up the slide.  she must be crazy strong, cause i can tell zoe is not helping that much.  super eijla!

 continuing her superness, she decided to rake my garden, good thing i had not planted any seeds there yet.  what a great helper she is.

valborgsafton

valborgsafton has come to röke once again.  the annermalms drove up for the fun.  after a yummy bbq, it was heading down to the big bonfire, where the kids ran around like crazy and wore themselves out.  the lokal school band even played a few songs this year.  took me way back to my years in middle school jazz band!

 then it was home for roasting marshmallows.  zoe and rebecka were quite the team, zoe found the perfect sticks for us all, and rebecka carved them just right, made the marshmallows taste even better!
