time for a little education

today we sent the girlies off to to school and kindergarten.  they were pretty excited.  new friends, new adventures.

eijla was very excited that she got to play with chloe all day and not just in the evenings at the beach!

relaxing...

so now it is the last days of freedom before we send zoe to school and eijla to dagis.  so we are just soaking it up. 

 zoe and i got ourselves some beach pedicures...

 thomas and eijla kept themselves busy too...

 zoe and lorn are nearly inseparable.  she was pretty excited to make such a great friend on the beach.  school starts on monday!

a visit from the lovely danes

our dear friend christina came for a visit.  she is always a great hit with the girls, and she brought along the adorable mie, better known as rebecca.  there was all kinds of fun.  the snow sledding...

 and the christmas market...

it is probably a good thing we do not have pictures of us playing wii, but we all had a great time.  zoe is always so sad to see christina go.  she is already planning her next visit!

strawberries and marshmellows!

svensson family came up for a bbq and marshmallow roast.  always a great time with good old friends.

 we were able to feast on all the strawberries we picked at the strawberry field today.  i think we must of froze about 10 kilos and then maybe eaten almost as many!

the 101st cool place in skåne...

while relaxing on the southern beaches of goa, we met a really lovely swedish family, and even celebrated jul with them.  turns out they also live in skåne, and have a summer stuga not so far from röke.  so we swung by for a fika.  it was great seeing them again, and valle had built a very impressive beach hunt (only the beach was missing).  we have not even started on our deck yet! had a great relaxing afternoon and a very yummy pie with these fabulous people.

the girls had a great time playing together,  and really took good care of eijla, even helped her up the slide..

and then down again.

tim was such a sweetie, but i think the girls were a bit too wild for his taste, he walked among the flowers instead.

yep, a little bit of paradise in the middle of skåne.

 it was really a lovely afternoon, thanks for the visit guys,  next time it is a red necked visit to röke!

a bit of danish company

a visit from a dear old friend that we had not seen in years made for an extra fun weekend.  christina, came up from copenhagen, funny one can live so close and still not see each other.  zoe fell in love immediately.  but it might have been something to do with the fact that christina could talk in funny voices and was willing to role play with their toys for hours at a go.  well done christina! 

then she showed the girls how to cut out cool shapes, especially hearts and make what zoe referred to as "amazing" decorations.  it was the first i had seen eijla use scissors, and it was adorable to see that little tongue come out and the mouth move with every cut.  she must have gotten that from uncle bryan! 

thanks for a great visit christina,  you are already greatly missed.  hope we make it down to you someday soon.

roadtrip!!!

so i finally got to take my new ride out for a longer trip, and zoe got to try out her new headphones to the dvd player that my new ride is built around!
first it was off to the annermalm's for a yummy fika and a bit of snuggles...then we took farmor and farfar for their first trip in our new luxury van... think farfar really enjoyed watching ice age with zoe!
then it was time for our very first family foto of four. not easy with a screaming newborn and a wired 3.5 year old!
