crazy summer days on bikes

pappa gave this four wheeler to zoe for christmas last year, but there was so much snow and it was just so slippery that it was basically impossible to drive it. sooooooo, spring came and the snow melted, and we pulled it out. and. and. and. it wouldn't work! argh! but thanks to the amazing mechanic we all know as christer, it is up and running again. apparently it was something so simple as the gas and oil had seperated! so here is zoe enjoying her new ride for the first time in röke!
but one bike was not enough! oh no, if she rode on one, she had to ride on the other. but i think her alternative motive was to ride down to where all the flowers are. surprise, surprise.

my crazy bike riding flower girl. cannot believe she is going to be four next month. every time i look at her i just feel like smiling, what a great kid.

puppy snuggles

yesterday we headed south to help out christer and jessica, a little payback for all the help they gave us with the minivan. since we were already in the deep south of skåne, we stopped by for a bit of puppy love at farmor and farfar's house.
zoe really had fun snuggling with them. they have gotten so big and vivacious at they can certainly hold their own with her. when she stood up after this picture one of the puppies had bitten into her hair and did not want to let go. it did however let go when it realized it was flying off the ground by its teeth!
farmor and farfar will be keeping one of the puppies, ellie. thomas likes to give her a little extra snuggles.
farfar and eijla were checking out the busiga puppies. at one point eijla was actually inside the fence with them, but i do not think she is quite ready to hold her own with them, they are growing up so much faster than my little girl, thank goodness.
however, she did manage to hang out on her own for a little bit. pretty good for three and half months.
and i just had to document her first time sitting in a high chair. just happened to be the same high chair pappa sat in when he was a little baby too. why do these little munchkins grow up so fast?

out of toilet paper! yes, our little zoe is always creating. be it hair styles, tiny cut up pieces of paper, or beautiful artwork. but today it was anklets, ever so carefully crafted out of toilet paper.
she had to pose for a picture to show pappa later what she had made. she was so very proud.

yeah, these two are cute now, but i am sure they are going to be just as buse as their big sisters in no time at all!

fun with the cousins in torekov

sunday we drove out to torekov where anders, cilla, emma, and moa have their camper trailer. it is a lovely campground just near the sea. emma was great at controlling the girls...
and there was loads of fun to be had on the giant hop pillow they have there.

zoe and maya's slumberparty

is three years old too young for a slumber party? apparently not, these amazing little girls were so good. we put up zoe's tent in eijla's room (because she has not furniture, so it was basically empty), and made a cozy little bed for the girls in there. they drew pictures and read books together, and when it was time for bed, they brushed their teeth without complaint.
but they had played so hard during the day that it did not take too long until they were both passed out. my only complaint was that they woke me up at about 05.15 the next morning!
the next day the girls were out among the flowers as per usual...
feels like summer.

humla sjön! the bee lake...

so we had been told that our new house is near a really nice swimming lake, and today we found it! it is only 4 kms away, and very nice. the water is still a bit too cold for proper swimming but i can see some lovely summer days in our future there. the sign says no dogs, but there was only one other guys there, and he said he did not mind, so bonita had a great break from her puppies.
farmor and zoe spent most of the time looking for tadpoles.
zoe was hilarious trying to catch them herself. three year olds are so funny sometimes, but finally pappa caught some for her to hold, and she was happy.
it was also eijla's first time swimming. or wading, or whatever you want to call it, but she was surprisingly calm about it despite the cold temperature.
after the cold water, she got some farmor snuggles to warm her up. don't know what those two were talking about, but there sure was a lot of laughing going on. pretty excited to be living so close to a nice swimming area! yipee!

today was a fun day, we had maya over for a bit of fun and the puppies came up for a visit.
though it seems as though maya and zoe kicked them out of their little house.
the girls had a great time with puppies, and they are starting to get bigger and bigger so they are now holding their own with these crazy three year olds. and of course we have a happy little monkey in her new summer dress and sun hat (thanks jonas, angelica, and ell!). she seems to think that she has a very yummy hand.
