eijla has almost never been sick in her year of life. but the other day when we heading out to dinner, she threw up all over me and the backpack we carry her in. so went home cleaned up. she seemed fine, and headed out again. repeat. went home, cleaned her up. she seemed fine. but i stayed home with her just in case. which ended up being a good thing, cuz, lets just say i spent a lot of time mopping floors...
anyway, so while poor little eijla was sick at home, what do pappa, zoe, farmor, and farfar do? EAT LOBSTER AND CRAB!

koh talu and yawabon, last day of diving
our last day of diving here in ao nang. had two really fun dives. thomas and anita went on the first one while zoe and i snorkeled around.
then i free dove down and stole a little big of air!
after the standard lunch of yummy pad thai, anita and i hopped in. yawabon was full of nudis!
we hung out with a lionfish for a bit...
and more nudis!
the weather was perfect, the boatman lovely, and chicken island standing proud..
another great day out for all three generations!

Happy Birthday Eijla!!!
Our little eijla beanie turned one today! hipp hipp hurra! we woke up to song and presents...
a cute little monkey for our cute little monkey!
then super yummy breakfast at the bakery...
then off to the beach for a bit of birthday fun in the sun...
since it was her birthday, eijla got to smash all the sand castles. she was eijla the destroyer! we could not build them fast enough...
then off course it was off for a bit of elephant trekking, what else does one do on their very first birthday?
and of course there was the feeding of the elephants. zoe was the championed at that...
then it was time for a birthday nap with extra farfar snuggles...
and then down to the beach for a sunset walk and of course eijla's first ever, very own ice cream cone. she devoured the entire thing. and really, really enjoyed it, can't you tell?
then there was some high flying by the girls thanks to thomas...
i know it doesn't look like it, but eijla was laughing like crazy, she loved it!
then it was back home for the cake...
zoe and pappa helped blow out the candle, after we made sure that eijla made a wish...
happy birthday, our dear adorable, crazy, wild, silly, cuddly eijla beanie. we had a great time sharing it with you. hope you have a wonderful year!

monkeys and snakes, oh my!
thomas saw a sign for a monkey school while we were out riding one day, so we decided to drop in one day when we had time. lucky for us, we managed to arrive right before a massive downpour. so we stayed dry and entertained while the water literally poured out of the sky...
the monkeys pretended we were coconut trees and showed us how they get the coconuts down...
then zoe wanted to go to the snake show, but she only managed to convince farfar to go with her. the rest of us stayed in the monkey area and were amused to watch one of the monkeys ride around on a tricycle...
farfar and zoe saw all kinds of snakes, even cobras. though luckily they did not let them hold the cobras, only the pythons (smirk, glad i did not know about it until after!).
then it was still raining when they came back, so they let us snuggle with a little 9 month old monkey.
great time for all the animals, especially ours!

just chillin...
zoe is ready to go for the day...
the dawn of happiness is a little restaurant and bungalows by a nice quiet beach. it has become a bit of a favorite place for us. from the beautiful gardens, yummy food, and peaceful beach we had another great day there...
even driving on the mopeds is fun. eijla is riding in the backpack on my back, and i sit behind thomas and zoe, and you can just see farmor and farfar behind us...
notice that only zoe is driving in this shot. i think my heart skips a bit every time thomas lets her drive!
ah well, just enjoying another day in paradise...
oh, and they have very yummy food here in paradise. even the fishheads are super yummy!
